Exploring the Historical Park in Kamphang Phet

Discovering the ancient Kamphang Phet
Located on the east side of the Ping River. It's part of Kamphang Phet province and has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. One cool thing to see there is the remains of an ancient forest temple called Aranyik.

Traveling Back in Time
The ancient buildings in Kamphang Phet were built way back in the 14th century A.D. when Phra Maha Thammaracha Li Thai was in charge. These buildings are Buddhist temples that show how important this area was in history. Back then, Buddhist monks lived in two groups - some in town and some in the forest.

Exploring the Ruins
Walking through the ruins of the ancient temple walls in the forest is an awesome experience. The area covers 1611 rais and there's a shuttle service and guide to help you explore. You can hop off the shuttle and take a closer look at the buildings to really understand their significance.

Learning More at the Museum
After checking out the forest temple, you can visit a small museum nearby. Inside, you'll find artifacts and models of the ancient forest temples. It's a great way to learn even more about the history of Kamphang Phet.

Exploring the Ancient Town
Next to the forest temple, you'll find the ruins of the ancient town. This area is smaller, covering 503 rai, but it's full of statues and temple ruins to explore on foot. Unlike the forest temple, there's no guide available here, so you can wander around at your own pace.
