Tipova to kamienny zespół klasztorny, założony w
VI wieku, wydrążony w wapiennym klifie, nad rzeką Dniestr. Według legendy miał mieć tutaj miejsce ślub Stefana Wielkiego i Marii de Mangop.
Pierwszy monaster na tym miejscu powstał między X a XII wiekiem. W jego skład wchodzą wykute w skałach cele oraz cerkiew Krzyża Świętego. Podczas najazdów tatarskich w XIII w. klasztor służył miejscowej ludności jako miejsce schronienia. Następnie monaster został opuszczony. Mnisi powrócili na to miejsce w XIV w. Wtedy powstał drugi zespół cel i nowa cerkiew św. Mikołaja.

Kompleks klasztoru jaskiniowego Orheiul Vechi wybudowany w klifach przez mnichów między XII a XVIIw. Według badań archeologicznych w tej okolicy mogło istnieć nawet ok. stu ośrodków życia monastycznego. W niezwykle skromnych warunkach do XVIII mieszkało tutaj kilkunastu mnichów. Do dziś nie wiadomo dlaczego mnisi odeszli. W latach 20-tych XVIII wieku wierni wydrążyli tunel oraz dobudowali wieżę, aby ułatwić sobie dostęp do skalnej świątyni. W reaktywowanym w 1996 r klasztorze Peștere, kilka metrów pod ziemią, w skromnej skalnej celi w klasztorze mieszka nadal samotnie jeden mnich, który kultywuje stare tradycje. Będac na miejscu, warto zejść tunelem na skalną półkę z panoramicznym widokiem na płynąca pod klifem rzekę Raut. Nad klasztorem Peștere znajduje się przepięknie położona Biserica Sfânta Maria.

Klasztor Curchi w Orhei jest jednym z najpiękniejszych i zarazem najważniejszych zabytków architektury Besarabii. Główny kościół klasztorny, katedra Naşterea Domnului projektu włoskiego architekta Rastrelli (1872) został zbudowany w stylu barokowym. Katedra ma najwyższą kopułę w Mołdawii, wznoszącą się na wysokość 57 metrów. Według legend klasztor Curchi został założony przez Stefana Wielkiego, a zespół architektoniczny powstał później w XVIII-XIX wieku. Klasztor został ponownie otwarty w 2005 roku.

Tipova is a stone monastery complex, founded in the 6th century, carved into a limestone cliff above the Dniester River. According to legend, the wedding of Stephen the Great and Maria de Mangop took place here.

The first monastery on this site was built between the 10th and 12th centuries. It consists of cells carved into the rocks and the Church of the Holy Cross. During the Tatar invasions in the 13th century, the monastery served as a refuge for the local population. The monastery was subsequently abandoned. The monks returned to the site in the 14th century, at which time a second complex of cells and the new Church of St. Nicholas were built.

The Orheiul Vechi cave monastery complex was built into the cliffs by monks between the 12th and 17th centuries. According to archaeological research, there may have been as many as one hundred monastic centers in this area. Until the 18th century, a dozen or so monks lived here in extremely modest conditions. The reason for the monks' departure remains unknown. In the 1720s, the faithful carved a tunnel and added a tower to facilitate access to the rock temple. In the Peștere Monastery, revived in 1996, a single monk still lives alone in a modest rock cell a few meters underground, cultivating the old traditions. Once there, it's worth descending through the tunnel to a rocky ledge with a panoramic view of the Raut River flowing beneath the cliff. Above Peștere Monastery is the beautifully situated Biserica Sfânta Maria. The Curchi Monastery in Orhei is one of the most beautiful and important architectural monuments in Bessarabia. The monastery's main church, the Naşterea Domnului Cathedral, designed by the Italian architect Rastrelli (1872), was built in the Baroque style. The cathedral boasts the highest dome in Moldova, rising to a height of 57 meters. According to legend, Curchi Monastery was founded by Stephen the Great, and the architectural ensemble was later built in the 18th-19th centuries. The monastery reopened in 2005.
