Top five reasons to dive Galapagos! Hammerhead sharks, mola mola, marine iguanas, sea lions, mantas!

There are endless reasons to dive in Galapagos, and maybe a few why you should not. This video includes my top five reasons why I think everybody who can afford it, should dive the Galapagos Islands. In this scuba diving video, I show the best of shark diving what Galapagos has to offer, diving with marine iguanas and if you are lucky also with oceanic sunfish or mola mola. In this scuba diving video I show you many of the underwater species, which make Galapagos diving one of the best in the world.

Galapagos offers some of the very best dives anywhere around the world, but it might not be for everybody. I wanted to share my reason why I think you should dive there. My reasons are the following:

1. Super awesome dives with massive schools of hammerhead sharks. I dove with scalloped hammerheads on many destinations, but my very best dives with them were for sure in Galapagos. Around Wolf Island and Darwin Island you have the best hammerhead shark dives in the world. Simple as that.

2. You have a good chance to dive with mola mola in Galapagos, and this is already a great reason to go and dive there. At Punta Vicente Roca around Isabela Island there is a well known mola mola cleaning station, which you should visit on your dive trip around Galapagos.

3. There is no other place where you could dive with marine iguanas. And I can think of many places where you could be diving with lizards... (I did dive with a monitor lizard in Lake Malawi, but it was only swimming, not diving). These mini godzillas make for a unique and memorable dive for sure.

4. Sea lions are playful, and diving with them, playing with the young ones is a dive like no other. It feels like you are playing with puppies, but all of this underwater and actually with sea lions. I will never forget my very first sea lion dive (well first time I snorkeled with them in Galapagos, also awesome experience).

5. All the variety of life you can see while diving around Galapagos, White-tip reef sharks, Galapagos sharks, big schools of eagle rays, loads of marine turtles, sea horses, Galapagos horned shark and so much more. Hands down one of the best diving ever. If you come in the colder months, you also will have the chance to dive with the biggest whale sharks anywhere can be found around the world.

As you can see in this underwater wildlife video, Galapagos is not a place to miss, if you can afford this costly trip. I suggest to everybody, to try to make it once in their life, it is a dive destination, which all serious divers should try once.
