Milling a custom cherry handrail on our Williams & Hussey Molder. We stack laminated three pieces of cherry rather than a one piece rail - a much more stable method to control warping, bowing, etc.. Speed was kept very slow (about 10 feet per minute) so as to not only reduce the chance of tear-out, but also to facilitate a finish almost ready to stain. Just a light hand sanding was required before applying the stain colors and clear coats.
