Hi friends,
Bareda kai ajadina or Balekai palya is how Mangaloreans refer to the dry raw banana dish in Mangalore. Ajadina means dry Curry in Tulu and Bareda kai means raw banana.
I made this flavorful plantain side dish, Mangalorean style. which is also called as Kacche kele ki sabzi in hindi. I like it with red rice ganji, you can also have it with dal and white rice and also with chapati.
Do consider making plaintain sukka and you will love it.
Ingredients:
Raw banana- 4
Onion – 1 large
Curry leaves- 2 sprigs
Tomato- 1 large / 1 tsp tamarind paste
Coconut- 1 cup
Jaggery / jaggery powder- 1 tsp
Ingredients to be roasted for Masala-
1 tblsp- coconut oil
1 tblsp- coriander seeds
¼ tsp- jeera
1 pinch- mustard seeds
1 pinch- fenugreek seeds
4- whole red chilli kashmiri
7-8 cloves garlic
Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp
For Tadka
Coconut oil- 2 tblsp
Mustard seeds- ½ tsp
Urad dal- ½ tsp
Cumin seeds- ¼ tsp
Asaoefitida- ¼ tsp
