The Community One Health Empowerment in Rwanda & Senegal (COHERS) project aims to improve community health and promote equitable One Health empowerment for poor and marginalized populations, especially women and girls, living in rural areas with a high prevalence of zoonotic diseases in Rwanda and Senegal. By combining WASH interventions with community-led health initiatives, the project works to strengthen resilience and ensure healthier futures for vulnerable communities.
The Project is transforming lives in Nyamagabe District by promoting #OneHealth and equitable access to WASH with the following achievement so far:
✅ 369 household latrines built (1,845 people reached)
✅ 20 Community Hygiene Clubs established
✅ 5,000+ people reached through hygiene campaigns
✅ 250 vulnerable families supported to improve latrines
