6.7 Cummins Grid Heater Bolt Failures – A Serious Engine Destroying Problem

✅What issue will trouble you?
The stock grid heater design has a potentially serious risk: loose or detached nuts under the grid may be sucked into the engine, hit the piston, and cause serious engine failure. Once this happens, you may need to take high repair costs or replace a new engine.
Eliminate the issue of stock grid heater failure, avoid high repair costs, and improve engine reliability.
✅What did we make?
Spelab's grid heater delete plate effectively eliminates this risk. It removed the heater bolts. Instead, a hole was placed above the intake horn to house the heating wire. So, the heating function is being kept, but there is no gird heater failure.
We have made significant improvements in the design of the intake horn. The air intake is more than twice as large as the stock, and the internal cavity volume is also larger, which can accommodate more air simultaneously and improve intake efficiency. Heating wire to the intake manifold to supplement the heating function and set a 45° sensor port on the manifold to facilitate accurate installation and access of the sensor.
SPELAB retrofit program eliminates the risk of heater bolt breakage. Combined with a coil-over heater, the engine can still start smoothly in cold conditions.
