The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan is Italy’s oldest active shopping gallery. Located between Piazza della Scala (home of the famous opera house) and Piazza del Duomo, the structure consists of four glass and cast-iron vaults that meet at a central octagon. It was designed in 1861 by the architect Giuseppe Mengoni!
