NQSN Singapore: Quantum-Safe Network Testbed with Versatile Reference Applications

We present the strategic vision and technical foundations of Singapore’s National Quantum-Safe Network (NQSN)—a resilient, fully interoperable quantum-safe testbed. Built on production-grade fiber infrastructure in a star-topology layout, the network supports multi-protocol quantum key distribution (QKD) from multiple vendors. A centralized key and network management system ensures interoperability and enables seamless integration across heterogeneous quantum and classical technologies. The testbed also supports diverse reference applications, including data center interconnects, edge computing, hybrid QKD–post-quantum cryptography (PQC) encryption, and multi-layer security across the OSI stack. These efforts demonstrate the feasibility, adaptability, and real-world relevance of deploying quantum-safe technologies in complex network environments.
