The story behind the creation of the ‘Muonophone’ – an instrument that plays music in reaction to the muons (particles) around it. This project is a collaboration between University of Glasgow physicist, Dr David Mahon, and artist/musician, Lomond Campbell.
The ‘Muonophone’ had its debut performance at the Edinburgh Fringe in August 2025, in a show called MUO.
