WATCH THIS BEFORE YOU BUY ANOTHER HAIR PRODUCT! | POROSITY 101 | THE CURLY CLOSET

First of all, sorry that this video is late! I'm working with a new editing programme so please bear with me!

This video is an introduction to hair porosity and why it's SO IMPORTANT for choosing the right hair products.

There are basically 3 types of porosities (although really they are on a spectrum)

1) Low Porosity - tightly closed cuticles, tends not to respond well to protein products/coconut oil

2) Medium (normal) porosity - closed cuticles that open more easily, responds well to moderate amounts of protein/coconut oil

3) High Porosity - cuticles open easily to let moisture in but also let moisture out easily, hair dries very fast, hair loves and needs regular protein treatments. Tends to love coconut oil.

These are not hard and fast rules! Everyone's hair is different. But porosity can be a guide to help you to choose the correct products for your hair. I will be doing follow ups to this video, make sure you subscribe and hit the bell to stay notified!
