The success of 'Animal House' led to an attempt to make it into a sitcom. Thus was born 'Delta House' (1979), with several members of the film cast reprising their roles. The character of Bluto was absent (said to be in the Army); his brother 'Blotto' (Josh Mostel) was the replacement. Michelle Pfeiffer had a brief bit in every episode and she credited it for helping to jump start her career. The show did OK in the ratings, but the 'family hour' time slot led to constant battles with network suits. Even the title 'Animal House' was considered too suggestive and had to be changed. That got old fast and the house closed down after 13 episodes. The theme song is by Jim Steinman, Tony Hendra, and Sean Kelly, performed by Michael Simmons.
