In the game of yugioh, monsters have levels that determine whether or not you can normal summon them without having to tribute other monsters. While levels 1 to 4 can be normal summoned regularly, levels 5 and higher require one to two tributes to be normal summoned. Level 5 monsters require one tribute to be normal summoned, meaning the level 5 monster will have to be good enough to warrant the tribute in the first place.
