Houthi rebels have claimed responsibility for shooting down a US MQ-9 reaper drone over Al-Jawf on April 09. Yahya Sare’e, the Houthi military spokesperson revealed that the group successfully targeted the drone, making it the 30th MQ-9 drone being downed in a year, in a massive blow to the US air defences. The Houthis are engaged in a tussle with the US, who have been bombarding ‘Houthi strongholds’ in Yemen since mid-March.
