Please join us on our #walkingtour of Clitheroe Castle in Lancashire as we take a #tour of the 3 storey high Castle Keep which was built in 1186 by Robert de Lacy & the Norman Keep is reputed to be the second smallest in England. The Ribble Valley in which Clitheroe and its Castle lie have been an important route since Ancient Times. The Roman Road which runs past the Castle leading to a Roman Fort in the North East & towards the Flyde coast in the West. The Castle was used during the War of the Roses when Edward 4th arranged a budget for its repair.
