Iqbal Academy Pakistan Marks 10th Death Anniversary of Justice (Retd.) Dr. Javed Iqbal
Lahore — October 6, 2025: Iqbal Academy Pakistan hosted a special seminar at the Aiwan-e-Iqbal Complex to commemorate the 10th death anniversary of the late Justice (Retd.) Dr. Javed Iqbal. The session was presided over by the Academy’s Treasurer, M. A. Hijazi, while Dr. Abdul Rauf Rafique, Director, Iqbal Academy Pakistan, delivered the vote of thanks.
Guest speakers included Dr. Hasan Raza Iqbali (Department of Urdu, University of Okara), Mian Sajid Ali (Chairman, Iqbal Stamp Society), author and Iqbal studies scholar Engr. Inayat Ali and Mr. Khalid Ali Tang.
In his address, M. A. Hijazi paid tribute to Justice (Retd.) Dr. Javed Iqbal’s enduring contributions, noting his pivotal role in conveying Allama Iqbal’s thought to younger generations. He emphasized that Dr. Javed Iqbal’s services must not be allowed to fade from public memory and affirmed that the Academy will continue to uphold its responsibility in preserving his legacy.
Offering the vote of thanks, Dr. Abdul Rauf Rafique remarked that Justice Javed Iqbal “gave practical shape to Iqbalian philosophy,” adding that the seminar was organized to keep his intellectual and cultural legacy alive on the occasion of his 10th anniversary.
Other speakers underscored that Dr. Javed Iqbal was a leading standard-bearer of Pakistan’s ideological foundations. While honoring his status as the son of Allama Iqbal, they noted that through sustained scholarship and rigorous research he earned a distinct and well-deserved place in the world of letters in his own right.
