|Biography of Bhai Mani Singh ji | ਜੀਵਨੀ ਭਾਈ ਮਨੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ|

Bhai Mani Singh ji was from a family of Shaheeds. 53 Members of his family attained martydm for the sake of Sikhi. Bhai Mani Singh ji had the honour to become scribe of Guru Gobind Singh ji, when Guru Sahib dictated Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Bhai Mani Singh ji was one of the most respected Sikhs and was given the charge of Shri Harimandir Sahib in the 18th Century. He was a great Scholar as well as a Great Warrior. In the 18th century Sikhs were being hunted by the Mughal Empire at that time Bhai Mani Singh ji was taking care of Shri Harimandir Sahib and was planning to celebrate Bandi Chord Divas at Harimandir Sahib. He asked for permission from Governer of Lahore Zakaria Khan. Zakarian Khan agreed but he demanded Money, Bhai Mani Singh agreed to the terms. When Bhai Mani Singh sent messages to all Sikh leaders to gather at Harimandir Sahib, Zakaria Khan had different intentions he thought when all sikhs will be gathered at Shri Harimandir Sahib they can attack with surprise and Kill them all. But Bhai Mani Singh came to know of his plans and cancelled the Gathering. When Zakaria Khan heard that he demanded money from Bhai Mani Singh ji, but Bhai Sahib refused to give him any money. So Zakaria Khan ordered to arrest Bhai Sahib. Bhai was ordered that he should be killed by chopping his every limb slowly. Bhai Mani Singh ji with no fear Attained Shaheedi. His life and Martydm will be an inspiration for generations to come.
