Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles has found an unconventional way to treat chronic pain - virtual reality programs designed by the company Applied VR. The VR experiences "hijack" the brains of patients, drastically reducing their perception of pain. In the latest episode of Superhuman, we look at the technology and meet patients benefiting from it. Dr. Brennan Speigel, the director of health services research at Cedars Sinai and Matthew Stoudt, CEO of Applied VR talk with us about how the technology works and the role it can have in fighting the opioid crisis.
