新宿・池袋と並ぶ3大副都心の一つであり、渋谷駅を中心とした日本有数の繁華街である。主に渋谷駅北西側のセンター街方面に大規模な繁華街が広がっている。「若者の街」として知られ、「西武百貨店」「東急百貨店」「渋谷パルコ」「109」「渋谷スクランブルスクエア」「ミヤシタパーク（渋谷区立宮下公園）」などのデパートやファッションビル・専門店・飲食店などが立ち並ぶ。渋谷駅前には待ち合わせの名所である忠犬ハチ公の銅像があり、そのすぐ向かいは渋谷スクランブル交差点となっている。渋谷スクランブル交差点は世界的に高い知名度を誇り、国内外から多くの観光客が訪れる。駅からスクランブル交差点を渡ると渋谷センター街であり、飲食店やゲームセンターなどが集積している。かつては歩行者天国を行っていたが、2002年12月28日をもって廃止となった。また、渋谷駅は東京の重要なターミナル駅の1つとして機能しており、その利用者数は直通運転の乗客を含めて約330万人であり、新宿駅に次いで世界2位を誇る。

Known as the "City of Youth," department stores such as "Seibu Department Store," "Tokyu Department Store," "Shibuya Parco," "109," "Shibuya Scramble Square," and "Miyashita Park (Shibuya Ward Miyashita Park)," fashion buildings, specialty stores, and restaurants. There are many shops. In front of Shibuya station, there is a statue of Hachiko, the faithful dog, which is a famous meeting place, and the Shibuya scramble crossing is just opposite. The Shibuya Scramble Crossing is well known worldwide and is visited by many tourists from home and abroad. Crossing the scrambled intersection from the station, you will find Shibuya Center Street, where restaurants and game centers are concentrated. It used to be a pedestrian paradise, but it was abolished on December 28, 2002. In addition, Shibuya Station functions as one of the important terminal stations in Tokyo, and the number of users is about 3.3 million including direct passengers, which is the second largest in the world after Shinjuku Station.
