Use These Instead of Flashcards ~ Speech Therapy At Home

Many children are VISUAL learners and like Flashcards or other card-related games and activities.

You can easily make these visuals with vocabulary in groups (animals, transport, body parts etc...) by printing (in colour), laminating and sticking velcro dots on the back of the images and matching them onto the visual board.

This is great for increasing vocabulary, turn-taking, following 1 part instructions (get frog) , 2 part (get the frog and snake) and even 3 or more part instructions.

It teaches the concept "same/match" and "different"

Tip: if you see a grid of vocabulary like this in a book/poster etc... simply colour photocopy 2 copies and make this game to play at home.

As always, you model how to play and use your words to talk about what is happening.
