⚓️ Discovering a New Uncharted Anchorage in American Samoa | Fagasa Bay Beauty ⚓️

After weeks stuck in a polluted harbor, we finally receive permission to sail to the other side of American Samoa—a remote and untouched anchorage where few cruisers have ever stayed before. Feeling like true pioneers, we set sail on a sunny day as Captain Connor proudly shows off his latest boat projects. But, as always, the ocean has other plans… 🌊 30 knots of wind and sheets of rain test us before we finally tuck into a breathtaking, protected bay.

Once safely anchored, we head to shore to meet the local chiefs and mayors for permission to stay—and begin exploring what quickly becomes one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever seen. Dinghy rides along dramatic cliffs remind us of Big Sur, but cloaked in lush tropical green. Evenings are filled with the sound of locals singing from their late-night masses, and by day we hike through the jungle (where Malwina taste-tests mystery fruit!) before cooling off in crystal-clear waters full of intricate coral, caves, and tunnels.

To top it all off, after endless teasing about his “hippie hair,” Connor finally gives in to a much-needed haircut. ✂️

A full day of sailing, squalls, local life, hiking, snorkeling, and a fresh new look—this remote side of American Samoa feels like paradise. ⚓️
