The Transrapid magnetic levitation train on the test track in Lathen (Germany) in the year 2000. One of the early test models reached a speed of more than 400 km / h. The speed record was 512 km / h.
The circuit of the test track was 32 km long. Due to the high line costs, the Transrapid never went into production in Germany. So far, only one regular route has been built in Shanghai.
