Thatcham Nature Discovery Centre is part of a collection of flooded gravel pits near Newbury in the UK. Carefully managed for wildlife, and in parts for fishing, it’s a pleasure to visit. Armed with a Panasonic FZ200 with its absurdly long, stabilised lens (bought for very little money off eBay) I collected a few shots and edited them in less than an hour to produce this little piece. It’s not going to win any awards and there are a few shots I’d replace if I could, but it was simply made for fun. Among the waterfowl you’ll see are black headed gulls, Canada geese, pochard, and Scaup (or tufted duck, I’m not sure which).
