Input and output devices are hardware components that allow users to send and receive information to and from a computer system: 

*Input devices

Allow users to send information to the computer. Examples include keyboards, mice, microphones, and scanners. 

Output devices

Receive data from the computer and present it to the user. Examples include printers, monitors, speakers, projectors, and headphones. 

Some devices, called I/O devices, can perform both input and output functions. Examples of I/O devices include CD drives, DVD drives, USB drives, and flash drives.
