SEPT 17th - Siamese Dream 30th Anniversary Party!

This year marks 30 years since the release of Siamese Dream. The Smashing Pumpkins are taking time out to celebrate with fans by playing an acoustic set on September 17 and live-streaming the whole event for free for fans around the world.

To join the stream you do need to reserve a spot ahead of time by registering with Veeps. An email address is all that is needed.

It has been announced that the stream will not be available for post-show viewing, so it’s a log in or miss out kinda thing. If you know a Pumpkinhead, help them out by letting them know so they can score themselves a spot to watch.

The show is set to be a reimagination of the much famed original release party for Siamese Dream held in Chicago thirty years ago which caused chaos and required police assistance after several thousand fans showed up to see the acoustic performance

For those in Chicago or fortunate enough to be able to travel there, Corgans tea house is also being transformed into a Tower Records Pop Up 14-17 Sept, stocked with exclusive merch and hard to find SP goodies

It’s not a small achievement for a band to even have an album released. Once released, most albums show the wearing passage of time quite quickly.

It is for a rare few that time adds lustre, and leaves them shining all the more brightly in our eyes

Siamese Dream deserves its celebration.

And for a band like The Mighty SP, whose focus is clearly on forging new ground and trying to figure out what sounds they haven’t invented yet… taking a day out to play some old jams with the fans, will hopefully be as fun for them as it will be for us
