Massive Protest outside Zubeen Garg’s manager Siddharth Sharma’s house in Guwahati | GPlus

Tension gripped the Dhirenpara area on Thursday, September 25, after a large crowd stormed the residence of Siddharth Sharma, the manager of late singer Zubeen Garg, who has been accused of negligence which allegedly led to the singer's death in Singapore on September 19.

The situation quickly spiralled out of control as protestors resorted to stone pelting and vandalism, forcing the police to intervene. Several people, including police personnel, sustained injuries in the clash.

According to reports, the crowd had gathered demanding justice for Zubeen Garg’s death. When the situation turned violent, police were compelled to use force.

Speaking to GPlus, an official from Fatasil Ambari Police Station said, “The public went unruly and started pelting stones. Many officials were hurt and ultimately lathi charge was resorted.”

Authorities confirmed that the situation was later brought under control, though tension continues to prevail in the area.
