40th Annual Roy Track Memorial Pow Wow 2024

Saturday’s Roy Track Pow Wow in Mesa, AZ was HOT 🥵🥵🥵 I wasn’t worried about my camera gear melting—I was more worried about my brain getting BAKED! 😂😂 I know Phoenix is known for heat, but I was hoping out-of-town visitors could catch a break for this pow wow!

Admission and parking were free, frybread was $8 😳, and water was $1 (soda was $2) behind the MC stand, where they later sold popcorn for $1. Porta potties were available, though only with hand sanitizer inside—no washing stations 😔. Surprisingly, I had poor cell service at Mesa Riverview Park. Anyone else?

Dennis Bowen is my favorite MC, and I think he might be a fan of my work too 🥰 At the Western Navajo Fair pow wow, I was telling him about the hoop dance contest videos (he’s the one and only MC for those!). This weekend when he asked for my channel name, I was beyond thrilled. The next day, he even gave me a shout-out (see my IG Threads)! Moments like these make me feel so appreciated for all the hard work I put into making YouTube a success.

Capturing this event as the unofficial videographer/photographer is always a privilege! Even with a few fans of my work, I appreciate every note of encouragement. It’s not about fancy gadgets; it’s about capturing these moments so we can watch them years from now. Thank you for the support! 🫶
