Coast Contra is such a fire group and I'm glad to have you on this journey with me. I remember when this album came out in 99. I was a 11 years old. I really enjoyed it. What's really important to note, is that the whole thing is produced by the late J-dilla! Breathe and Stop was the hit record from Q-tip on his own. The beat is something serious, and the way that CC attacked it was insane. You can hear this track as well as a few other on their "THE OLD WAY MIXTAPE" from 2023. It's titled "Give and Recieve". I was digging the energy all throughout this performance. Eric started it with crazy energy as always setting the bar very high. Ras comes through next and grabs that bar matching the energy and lyricism. Rio comes with the Spanish bars and switches it up, attacking the beat in his own way, like he is well known for. Taj brings it home with the layered penmanship and closes it out with a nice promo and cliff hanging dedication to the production. This one was so fire, I lost track of time.
