Baby Boy Kurta With Pajama Cutting and Stitching | DIY Very Easy Designer Kurta And Pajama Tutorial

[Materials Needed]

• Cotton or silk fabric
• Measuring tape
• Scissors
• Chalk or fabric marker
• Elastic for pyjama
• Sewing machine
• Matching thread

[Step 1: Measuring & Cutting the Kurta]

1. Measure your baby’s chest, length from shoulder to desired length, and sleeve length.
2. Fold the fabric and mark the chest width + 2 inches for seam allowance.
3. Mark the length from shoulder down and add 1 inch for hem.
4. For the sleeves, measure the armhole and cut 2 rectangular pieces based on your baby’s arm length + 1 inch.
5. For the neck, cut a slight curve for a round neckline or create a V-neck if you prefer.

[Step 2: Stitching the Kurta]

1. Start by joining the shoulder seams of the front and back panels.
2. Attach the sleeves by matching the armholes.
3. Sew the side seams from the armpit down to the hem.
4. For the neckline, add a simple facing or piping.
5. Hem the bottom of the kurta and finish the sleeves.

[Step 3: Cutting the Pyjama]

1. Fold the fabric and mark the waist measurement + 2 inches for seam allowance.
2. Measure the length from waist to ankle and mark it on the fabric.
3. For the crotch area, cut a curve from the top corner, about 4-5 inches, depending on the size.
4. Cut two identical pieces.

[Step 4: Stitching the Pyjama]

1. Sew along the crotch seams on both pieces.
2. Join the two pieces by sewing the inner leg seam.
3. Hem the ankle area.
4. Fold and stitch the waistband, leaving a small opening to insert the elastic.
5. Insert the elastic, stitch it closed, and your pyjama is done!
