Happy 9.5th anniversary to Maria and Mario! Celebrating half-anniversaries is a first for me, but I'd like to continue doing this in the future. Please look forward to their 10th anniversary next year, which is when I'll release new stuff for them in celebration. October 3 is their designated half-anniversary date for reference.

I love this song a lot despite how depressing the lyrics are, it just really takes me back to my slightly noob days in the UTAU community, when big events were taking place (like UtauVision and UHP-CB) and when new bangers came out (like Bring It On, Machinegun, etc...). I genuinely do miss that era sometimes, and while I do like the current era of vocalsynths, something about the vocalsynth community in 2014-2019 just really hits different for me, at least in a nostalgic way.

With that being said, I have some other important updates and details I'd like to discuss:

Since I've shifted my focus on working on my OC projects, I think it's safe to say that I've effectively left the vocalsynth community - at least in terms of social interaction with the community in question. I will still continue my vocalsynth activities nonetheless as it is a hobby that I am still passionate about, not to mention that it is a formative stepping stone to working on other projects. I do have plans to incorporate vocalsynth work into my main OC project, but we'll see how it goes from there. I'm more content with seeing what my favourite vocalsynth producers are up to these days including new voicebank releases, and that I've been enjoying this hobby by myself now.

It's just that the horrid toxicity of the vocalsynth community kept hindering me from truly enjoying the hobby and from doing what I loved, and it was that way for many years...at least until this year. I guess finally abandoning my Twitter account (since on Twitter that's where 99% of vocalsynth folk congregate) and moving on to Bluesky helped with finally shutting out the discourse that constantly brews over there. On Bluesky specifically, I met new friends and acquaintances who share the same passion for art and OCs as I do, and it's much more fun and engaging talking to people there, posting your creative works and rambles and whatnot...

Again this isn't to say that I'm going to quit using vocalsynths! It's just that it's now more of a fun side hobby I indulge in, and you may see me upload a cover or two on a sporadic basis. Of course I will try to upload something for Maria and Mario's anniversary dates...and if things look busy, that might be the only vocalsynth thing you'll see from me. Hopefully it won't be that way since I'm fully recovered from burnout and that I do have some cover ideas...just don't expect a lot of vocalsynth content from me from this point on, but I will make non-vocalsynth related things with Maria and Mario of course.

I'm also planning to purchase a new tablet specifically for creative work like art, comics, and animatics. I would really love to get an iPad and an Apple Pencil but as someone who is deeply entrenched in Samsung's ecosystem, I really want the latest Galaxy Tab model...plus for me Android in general just fits my needs. And speaking of animatics I had some in the works but I'd like to pause on that, at least until I get a new tablet. Also, I've been developing my casual OC project, PROXIMA×EXPRESS, at a relatively fast pace to the point where almost everything is sort of ready to go. I'm still working on character designs and concepts for the wiki that is in progress, so expect me to launch the wiki regarding my project next year!

So that's where I'm at now! TL;DR: vocalsynths aren't my main thing anymore and are more of a fun side hobby, though I will try to make something for my UTAUs' anniversaries. Art, comics, animatics and OCs is now my forte, and I'm saving up for a new tablet.
