In this short video we are foraging for wild low brush berries in the tundra of Alaska. Other names for the Alaska wild cranberries are low brush cranberry, cowberries, mountain cranberries. The cranberry thrives in the tundra and boggy areas and open woods leading to tundra. The cranberry are best picked in the fall right after the first frost. The cranberry are tart berry but are great for making jams and in baked goods on the homestead. Cranberries have medicinal properties that help aid with digestion, besides being good for you there are many way to use wild cranberries.
