Xiaobei is the de facto Muslim food district in Guangzhou. It is known for eats from the Middle East, Türkiye, West Africa, Central Asia, and Xinjiang, the Chinese region home to the Uyghur culture.
Although the COVID-19 pandemic sent a lot of its former residents packing, Xiaobei still has a variety of places to eat, to buy thob, tunics, and dashikis, and to admire the countless CCTVs installed throughout.
Fortunately it's easy to access, having its own station on Line 5 of the Guangzhou metro, as well as being near Guangzhou railway station.
