I absolutely love the idea of a modular telescope. Lunt Solar Systems got my attention with their line of day/night scopes. I am OCD simple. I don’t like a lot of stuff so a multi-purpose telescope speaks to me. Out of the box it’s ready to go for visual but there will arise questions on how to handle the hardware side of astrophotography. I’ve put a lot of thought into this. I’ve tried multiple layouts and this is where I arrived. I had two rules in mind. 1) keep the solar finder intact, and 2) maintain easy swap between day and night ( otherwise what’s the point? ). So far this is where I’m at. A few other YouTubers have the scope and I already saw a 3D printed mount for a top guidescope by Dave of Dave’s Astrophotography. That’s really cool. It’s a fantastic scope and I’ve been using it for about six months now. Lunt offers this product as just the OTA with the ability to add or upgrade modules in the future. I have the h-a module on order and plan to fully upgrade the scope. Suggestions or links to other hardware setups are greatly appreciated. I hope to create a thread for innovative solutions to mounting this as a modular rig. Thank you. Clear skies.
