A Tribute to My Father | Visiting His Birthplace, Kusumkhola | An emotional homecoming

This video is not just a travel vlog — it is a journey back to my roots, my memories, and my father’s life.

Kusumkhola, Ribdikot Rural Municipality–5 (formerly Kusumkhola VDC–6, Pipalchaur), is my father’s birthplace — the land where he was born, raised, and where his story began. Visiting this place after so many years felt deeply emotional, nostalgic, and grounding.

Our journey started from Khaireni–Butwal, traveling by motorbike through Jordhara — where we stopped to enjoy batuk, chukauni, and pakora — then passing Dumre and the newly built road leading to Kusumkhola. Every turn of the road carried memories and emotions.

The orange orchards heavy with fruits, lemon and coffee plants, yellow mustard fields, green guava trees, and the quiet hum of honeybees felt exactly the same as my childhood. Tasting ghar ko maha — pure honey from the hive — instantly reminded me of my father’s love for honey farming and honey hunting.
Everything felt unchanged… except the home.
The house stood there silently — empty, yet filled with memories.
We shared lunch at Dharmu dai’s home, walked through the village, met familiar faces, and captured moments in photographs — memories to be saved for a lifetime. Every second spent here felt precious and meaningful.
This visit is my quiet tribute to my father — a way of telling him how deeply I love him, how much I miss him, and how his roots live on through me.
