Who funds the pharmaceutical industry? Dr. Magalai Hass notes a common misconception that most discoveries are sponsored by the government. Rather, research has inconsistent and insufficient funding to promote innovation. Pointing to the 0% FDA approval of therapeutics for PTSD and traumatic brain injury (TBI), Dr. Hass discussed the core values of Cohen Veterans Bioscience to fund scientific discovery. Hoping to find new solutions for PTSD and TBIs, she and her team apply advanced computational models (E-Brain or virtual Research and Development Model) to find the best approach. She is now looking for potential partnerships in creating high-performance data commons to create shareable, reproducible, and robust information.
