Xanomeline-Trospium: The Latest Advancement in Schizophrenia Treatment - Rachel Rose, MD

Dr. Rachel Rose is currently a third-year resident at the University of New Mexico and served this past year as the PGY1/VA Chief Resident. She will begin her fourth year of residency training in June and serve as the incoming PGY2/MHC Chief Resident. Dr. Rose completed her undergraduate degree at UNM with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and worked as research assistant in the psychology department prior to her acceptance into medical school. She completed her medical school training at UNM. After the completion of residency, she hopes to practice in New Mexico and serve her home community.

Learning Objectives:
1. Understand the development timeline of Cobenfy and the key clinical trials that led to FDA approval.
2. Examine the mechanism of action of Cobenfy to understand its role in treating psychosis and side effect profile.
3. Recognize clinical applications of Cobenfy, its utilization at UNMH thus far, and current limitations/need for future research.
