My Surface Pattern Design Workflow

I get a lot of people asking me about my workflow from sketch to a repeating pattern, so here is my most frequent workflow. It does vary depending on client requirements, but this is probably my most frequent process:

Workflow:
1 - Sketch motif(s) in Procreate
2 - Colour motif(s) in Procreate
3 - Airdrop to Photoshop on iMac
4 - Convert to Smart Object - this is so I can recolour and resize easily.
5 - Add motif to my pattern file (typically a 3000x3000px, 300 dpi)
6 - Repeat for each motif
7 - Compose pattern
8 - You're done!
