Culmstock Beacon is located on the South Western edge of Blackdown Common about 5 miles from Taunton. The Beacon was one of a chain of Elizabethan beacons used for lighting fires to warn London of advancing enemies such as the Spanish Armada. The Common now a haven for wildlife offers amazing views, in our video you can see the beacon building and in the distance the Wellington monument.
We visited the beacon on a sunny November morning.
