The financial sector in Ghana consists of four regulators. The Bank of Ghana is responsible for overseeing the activities of banks and non-bank financial institutions such as microfinance companies.
The National Pension Regulatory Authority (NPRA) is responsible for regulating the pension sector in Ghana. The National Insurance Commission (NIC) is the regulator for the insurance industry in Ghana. Lastly, the Securities and Exchange Commission is responsible for regulating Ghana's capital market.
All these institutions work in conjunction to ensure that the financial sector is strong, transparent, and efficient while also safeguarding the interest of investors.
