This presentation describes the relationship between gambling and video gaming using the most current research available.
Included is a discussion of specific case examples where gambling and video gaming have intersected from a clinical perspective. Achieve a better understanding of why individuals with gambling problems are more susceptible to problematic video game play and why those with problematic video game play may develop gambling problems.
This presentation includes information about how a person may play e-sports competitively without developing a problem while simultaneously being unable to control a video game skins gambling problem.
Ken Litwak, ABD, MS, LISAC, LCADC, ICGC-II, CCTP, IGDC is the Executive Director of Algamus Gambling Treatment Center. Ken is currently working on a doctoral dissertation on the psychology of treating clients with problematic video game play.
