Villagers In Ferozepur Protesting Against Liquor Factory Since July 24

An indefinite dharna is going on in Mansurwal village of Zira constituency of Ferozepur district since July 24.
Villagers are protesting against alleged groundwater contamination by liquor manufacturing factory.
The factory has been operational in the outskirts of this village since 2007.
However, the factory has been closed since July 24 as the protesters are staging dharna outside the gate of the factory.
But protesters want its permanent closure.
Recently a team of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) also came to the spot and took water samples, its reports are still awaited.
