STORYLINE

Two years ago a doctor respected and trusted by thousands in a small, northern English town was sentenced to life in prison for killing 15 of his patients. But Harold Shipman is suspected of having killed many more, possibly 466. An inquiry is under way, but the people of Hyde will probably never know what drove their doctor to murder and some will always wonder if they could have prevented some of the deaths.
