The ACB El Gato is a tiny, tiny mouthpiece based on a Charlie Allen piece used by the legendary Cat Anderson. With a tiny, shallow cup and a large, cushioned rim, this mouthpiece sits at the extreme small end of our line and is made out of respect for one of the great trumpeters of the 20th century.
Cat Anderson was notoriously secretive about the inner dimensions of his mouthpiece during his playing career, so we're very excited to offer this replica in his honor. The outer blank is unique in our line and it's truly a gorgeous shape.
This mouthpiece is not for the faint of heart! It's so easy to bottom out with the slightest amount lip intrusion into the cup.
This is a great mouthpiece for the collector who wants an extremely aggressive lead mouthpiece, or the Duke Ellington enthusiast who wants to contemplate the dedication one of the supreme lead players took to his craft.
