The box squat is a great exercise that has been widely used in the powerlifting community to increase your squat power. Most people do it wrong though. Today's video is all about how to box squat the right way.
Choose your desired bar grip (High Bar or Low Bar). Set up your feet the same as a regular squat and step back. Set your hips back towards the box, pause briefly, and explode up.
When you squat down to the box, do not sit back and pick your feet up. The important part is to stay braced and tight the whole time. At the bottom position, pull the bar down into your shoulders as you explode up. This helps you generate more power on the way up in a regular squat.
