Shai Gilgeous Alexander is putting together an MVP season for the Oklahoma City Thunder. SGA plays very effectively out of the pick and roll, scoring from the midrange against the drop coverage, attacking the switch and finishing at the rim, or getting into an isolation attack where he's notorious for getting to his spin move to create separation for a shot.
Coaches and trainers, check this video out to learn how to make your point guards better scorers. Can you teach your players to play fast to slow? High to low? Can your players start and stop while maintaining balance? What on the ball moves can your player use to attack the defense and be a threat to score. SGA uses the in and out to get downhill, and the wrap around when he puts on the brakes for the midrange jumper.
