Ariana flexes great creative power over a wonderful, sugary and increadibly vast sonic landcape presented with beautiful strings and a fever-dream feel. Positions is a strong project aided by non-intrusive features and a complete command over narrative, presentation and subject. However, an inherit positivity makes it fall in comparison to its tight, edgy, simplistic and well intertwinded predecessor 'thank u, next'. This ends up not taking that much away, no matter how limiting it felt and concludes this project with a solid finish and an overall move in the right direction.
