This was my first ever live online moderated debate. I defended the side of continuationism, meaning, I believe the miraculous gifts of the Spirit are still available for the Church today. I would describe myself as a "cautious Charismatic." My opponent, Daniel Allgood, defended the Cessationist position, meaning he believes the Bible teaches the gifts have ceased. I'm not naturally a debater, because I tend to take a long time to process information and to formulate my thoughts. But, I did have a good time with this debate, and I think we were both able to maintain good spirits. This is not a Gospel issue in my mind, so ultimately we're on the same team.
