BHARAT UDAY GURUKUL

The Bharat Uday Gurukul, established in 2018, was founded by Dr. Ravi Kant Pathak, an IITian (IIT Mumbai pass-out batch of 1999) and scientist and professor of air pollution and climate change at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. With a vision for an International school patterned on the ancient Indian Gurukul system, to create a self-transformed, compassionate and patriotic new generation to take leadership role for building a vibrant and enlightened Bharat. He wants to ensure that every child is exposed to an environment conducive for their inner-growth along with honing of life-skills and development of sharp intellect.
Dr. Pathak is aspiring to set up a school with a difference which is founded on the core Sanatanic philosophy of four Purusharthas (aspirations) of Life i.e. Kaam (efforts), Arth (wealth), Dharma (righteous conduct) and Moksha (enlightenment/Nirvana/self-realization), unlike the current schools that only focus on kaam and bhog (unsustainable materialistic consumerism) way of Life.
A 60 acres, The Bharat Uday´s first Gurukul campus is situated in the pristine location in the Indo Gangetic Plain region of Bundelkhand, and is aimed to be a home to approximately 500 boys aged 6 - 18 years. The estate has hundreds of species of flora and fauna and the environment enables boys to be truly inspired and creative in each aspect of academic, social, national and spiritual life. The Gurukul at the meager fees (only one third of actual costs) offers excellent facilities, which are further being developed to sustainable technology and design.
The Gurukul aims to attract and develop exceptional boys who are inwardly rich, open-minded, knowledgeable, compassionate, courageous, wise and creative, critical thinkers. They will learn to express themselves in a variety of ways and grow their capacity for collaborative work in the Gurukul and society. The school seeks to develop principled, reflective, and balanced risk-takers who know the difference between activity and action, and can step forward when needed. Boys are expected to aspire to genuine and higher intellectual achievement. They are also expected to develop and acquire leadership and entrepreneurial skills in Gurukul in preparation for the rest of their family, professional, social and national lives.
The Bharat Uday Gurukul put enormous efforts to train pupils for their inner-growth and academic excellence and development of life skills and wisdom simultaneously. Boys leaving the Gurukul are expected to find places at some of the world’s top avenues i.e. ashrams, institutions, universities etc. and make their mark in the spiritual, artistic, creative, political, scientific, and business spheres in India and around the globe.
