Here at Townsville University Hospital, we have seven birth suites. They all have different layouts; however, the bed and equipment inside are the same. This is where you have your baby and stay for about two hours after birth until you are taken to the maternity ward for the rest of your hospital stay.
Your midwife will stay with you while you are in labour. It is her job to make sure you are safe and well informed of what is happening to you and your baby throughout the labour. You can ask her anything.
