Workshops:
14 June and 12 July 2025, MOCAK Museum
These workshops were a special event for Deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing participants. During the sessions, attendees explored the basic parameters of sound. Together, they went hunting for the “atoms” of sound, discovered its spectrum, learned how sound can be “packaged,” and pondered whether bus frequency had anything to do with pitch. Participants also got to know the processes of combining sounds and notating them in a score.
The workshop became an opportunity to collaboratively create a multisensory experience in which sounds were transformed into vibrations.
Led by: Asia Nawojska, Katarzyna Feiglewicz–Peszat, Piotr Peszat, and the musicians of Spółdzielnia Muzyczna contemporary ensemble.
Concert:
12 July 2025
In Piotr Peszat’s piece, created on the basis of workshop experiences, audiences not only heard the sound but also saw and felt it. The concert space became a multisensory installation where light and image responded to the music, and people were free to move around: sit, lie down, stand, or walk among the performers.
We encouraged everyone to use vibrating devices that made it possible to perceive sound with the whole body, without overloading the hearing and in complete safety.
The event was preceded by a short introduction explaining the piece and the tools of perception.
